Chris Sanford from Puro Clean

I had the pleasure of interviewing Chris Sanford from Puro Clean yesterday. His warm and friendly personality made the interview quite enjoyable while I learned about the success story of a local Rhode Islander.

Sanford graduated from Holy Cross just prior to serving active duty in the Navy for seven years. After his seventh year, when he was ready to embark on the next phase of his life, there were endless opportunities in front of him. Sanford however, knew that a desk job was not for him and had the determination to be his own boss. Through extensive research, that is exactly what he did. He found a connection with the Puro Clean franchise and made the purchase of one in 2007. Puro Clean is a leader in property emergency service. They help families and businesses overcome setbacks from property damage caused by various environmental effects. What drew him to this company were the different dynamics and the unique problems he would encounter on a day to day basis. He enjoyed the idea that no two days would ever be the same.

Three years later, Sanford knows he made the right decision. He thoroughly enjoys working with his employees who he says “are a great team, who give great feedback and are compassionate about what they do.” To Sanford, the most rewarding part of his job is that he knows he can help people and business owners when they need it most. Damages caused by events like floods, break- ins, or fires are devastating and the fact that he can provide relief and comfort to them makes his job worthwhile.

Bucci Insurance applauds our local Rhode Islander Chris Sanford for all of his hard work and success with Puro Clean and wish him the best of luck in the future!

Lori Baker from Herbalife

Looking to get more out of your life? Want to feel healthier and have more energy? Then Lori Baker is the one you want to talk to! It all started with her introduction to Herbalife as a client which then grew to a part time employment and is now her career as a Wellness coach.  At first, working for Herbalife was part time job that fit perfectly into her busy schedule of running a household with children and working at another full time job. Shortly after seeing the potential she had at there and the number of lives she could change for the better, she decided to leave her previous job and devote herself to Herbalife.

Today, Lori visits with clients daily, whether it is for her free one hour consultation or to follow up with a customer for a weigh in and measure. Right from the beginning, Lori makes recommendations and sets benchmarks in order to help clients reach their goal without disrupting their lifestyle. A once a week meeting allows Lori the opportunity to make sure her customers are on the right track and headed toward their desired outcome. She also works with other coaches to help train them to do as she does and reach out to even more people that way.

When not working directly with clients, she is involved with the Nutrition Club in Warwick, Rhode Island that helps educate the community on proper nutrition. They offer a free service and samples with a small donation to help keep the program running.

If you are interested in learning more about Lori Baker and the service she offers you can contact her at 401-255-3681 or visit her website. If you would like to attend the Nutrition club, it is opening November 1st on 2426 West Shore Road in Warwick, Rhode Island.

K&D’s Cakes

Talk about a sweet bond! K&D’s Cakes was started three years ago by sisters Kayla and Dawn. With work experience in a bakery and numerous years of life experience, baking was something that seemed to come naturally to them. After friends and family were continuously impressed by their amazing work, they finally decided to start their own business. And it didn’t take long before the orders started coming in!

With the fading of local bakeries, K&Ds Cakes brings something to the table that is no longer easily found. It’s a personal and intimate experience that Kayla and Dawn make special for each customer. With these two women working together the creative ideas and possibilities are endless. They hand deliver each cake; which is to them, their favorite part of the job. Seeing the customer’s face when they look at the cake for the first time makes it all worth it.

For any occasion and for all of your pastry needs, visit K&D’s Cakes website! Bucci Insurance is proud of Dawn and Kayla for finding success in something that they love. Best of luck in your future!

How To: Create a Positive Image

Positive ImageHow to Create a Positive Image is Bucci Insurance Group’s “how to” pick for this week. Diane Keng, a freshman at Santa Clara University, is one of the few who has already understood the importance of creating a positive image in the social media world. In an article from the Providence Journal, she was quoted saying “Maybe someone will look you up on Facebook before they actually meet you in person. Once first impressions are through, it’s really tough to get back from there.” This is why she suggests creating two accounts; one personal, only accessible to family and friends and the other a public professional. You need to have an idea of how you want the world to perceive you and then portray that through your social media footprints.

Make sure your accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and any other social networking sites reflect the person you want others to see. What you say, post online, and what others say about you allows onlookers to assume things that may or may not be true. Dan Shawable, a personal brand consultant suggests signing up for Google alerts. This helps keep track of when your name is being mentioned on the internet and what is being said.

On professional accounts, post relevant links, friend co-workers, and post pictures about a great event you put on, and talk about what a success it was. Make your page have a voice. In the Providence Journal, it even offered the idea of creating your own website. You can find domain names at GoDaddy.com and create a profile about you, your work experience and blog about your thoughts and ideas. Don’t be afraid to disagree with someone and voice your own opinion. Most importantly, if you decide to do that, keep the site updated! You do not want to be perceived as someone who gives up easily.

With these tips, take control of your image in the social media world and make it a positive one.

Sports and More in the Providence Place Mall

Well it’s up and running and has been for about a month. Have you been in Sports and More yet?

Two local Rhode Islanders, Rob and Michael Luzzi saw an opportunity when the sports store they had been working at for the past 10 years closed down. Together, they decided to take the same concept and add their own touch to it. After 30 years of collecting items, they know their stuff! This store opened September 1st in the Providence Place Mall and it has items that no other sports store has. Between apparel that no one else carries to signed pictures and autographs, you’re bound to find something that catches your eye. They also take special requests- if there is something they don’t have but you want, they will do all they can to accommodate you.  When you’re in the area, be sure to stop in and say hello to the new guys!

Bucci Insurance wishes Sports and More continuing success!

How To: Be More Likable on Facebook

Bucci Insurance’s video pick of the week:  Why It’s so Important to Be Likeable on Facebook and How To Do It. By now, I’m sure you all know how to create a Facebook account and a fan page but now that you have it, where do you go from here? Watch this video by Likeable and learn all the different techniques on how to increase fans, create a conversation, and keep the customer’s interest.

Here are some Facebook Best Practices they suggest in case you miss it:

  • Make your public profile a place filled with valuable information
  • Give you’re fans a reason to become fans
  • Use updates to ask questions and elicit response, not deliver press releases
  • Engage fans through creative content
  • Think of your page in terms of being your fans, not being our brand
  • Hypertarget with Social Ads and with Updates
  • Give fans reason to post content on your profile page
  • Worry less about developing a custom food application, and worry more about creating a good conversation
  • Thank and respond to the positive
  • Respond even more diligently to the negative
