One more day left to donate non-perishable food to Bucci Insurance’s office in Warwick, Rhode Island! Don’t forget to tell your friends to “like” our Facebook page! For every additional “like” we receive, we will donate $1 to the West Bay Community Action.

According to the Providence Journal, the state of Rhode Island’s unemployment rate is 12.9 percent, one of the worst in the nation. Last year, a fifth of all households seeking help included someone who had lost a job in 2008. More than 4 out of 10 said they had to choose between eating and paying a utility bill or the rent. Those facts are saddening and Bucci Insurance wants to do something to help! With your assistance, we are collecting non-perishable food items at our office in Warwick, Rhode Island and then just before Thanksgiving we will be delivering everything to a local food bank as a donation from the entire community. In addition, we will donate $1 to The West Bay Community Action for every new “like” we receive on our Facbook page. Together, we can make a big difference.

According to the Census Bureau, 43.6 million people lived in poverty in 2009 which was up from 39.8 million in 2008. Also in 2008, 14.6% of U.S. households (17.1 million homes) were food insecure and faced the challenges of hunger. This is an increase from 11.1% (13 million homes) in 2007.

What can you do about it?

Well did you know that for just $1, food banks can provide 7 meals to men, women and children facing hunger? Bucci Insurance will help make that happen!

Bucci Insurance is looking to support our community, but we need your help! We will donate $1 to The West Bay Community Action for every additional “like” we receive on our Facebook. But that’s not all, you can bring your non-perishable food items to our office in Warwick, Rhode Island! Right before Thanksgiving we will bring the items to a local food bank as a donation from the whole community.

There are nine days until Thanksgiving…what are you doing to give back?

According to nothing.org, since 2008 the need for food assistance in Rhode Island has increased by 50%.  That equates to 55,000 people who are worried each month as to how to how they are going feed themselves and their families. Of all the visitors at local food banks more than one third of them are under the age of 18. At this age, those who do not get adequate nutrition are susceptible to harmful long-term effects.

Help stop this problem and support your community; we’ll even make it a little easier for you.  Drop off your non-perishable food items at the Bucci Insurance office in Warwick, Rhode Island, and we’ll deliver it all to a local food bank as a donation from the community. People who received food serviced by the Rhode Island Community Food Bank have already increased 15% from last year. With so many individuals left without a job, support from the community is now needed more than ever!
